NODAL Solar Eclipse is not total but Annular, the moon will shadow 94% of the Sun, leaving a HALO or HALLOWED ring of sunlight

The 1st lunar eclipse of 2012 occurs
at the Moon's Ascending node in southern Ophiuchus this is SIDEREAL -about 6° northeast of Antares (mv = +1.07). It is best seen from locations in and near the Pacific Ocean.
Most of the Americas will not see the eclipse or experience it at moonset before
